ABOUT FARMLY
Founded in 2022, Farmly is a Farmer’s Market Initiative supported by Ngee Ann Polytechnic aiming to introduce local-made produce and food companies to people in Singapore through organising various farmers' markets located in accessible locations in the heartlands of Singapore.

FORGETFUL BEGINNINGS
Farmly was born out of forgetfulness. The team was participating in a sustainability-themed hackathon but we had forgotten about the hackathon until the night before our presentation due to our hectic schedules and our focus on our coursework. We were frantic and almost out of ideas.

THE BIG IDEA
Just then, our Founder recalled fond memories of going to the farmers’ market with his family to shop for fresh produce. He realised it was nearly impossible to reach the market by public transportation due to the relatively remote location, and thus decided to develop this idea to help these vendors bridge the gap and bring the farmers’ market closer to Singapore’s housing estates? Furthermore, Singapore is working towards achieving the “30 by 30 plan” with targets to produce 30 per cent of the country’s nutritional needs by 2030.

FIRST EVENT
And thus, Farmly was thus born out of a presentation done up in five hours that won us the hackathon and granted us the SG$5,000 (US$3,700) Kickstart Fund! We are in the midst of setting up our first event at Woodlands Woodgrove GRC, so keep a look out for that!
